The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
